Series 1: Love

"It Was Love at First Sight"

Inspiration: This is the first Precious Memory Box that I ever painted. It was inspired by the roses that I had placed on top of Alana's casket at her burial. While at the flower shop there was a chart that said what all the roses symbolized. A purple rose symbolized "Love at first sight". Once I read that I knew those were the flowers I wanted to buy for her. It was love at first sight for me. I remember the day I found I was pregnant. I was in the emergency room for something completely unrelated, I had no idea that I was pregnant. The doctor came and told me the good news. For the first time I saw our little (sour apple) Jellybean on an ultrasound screen. I was taken back, and amazed. I fell in true love with her.

Symbolism:

Purple roses mean Love at First Sight. Rose steam leafs are a symbol of hope. The color white means innocence, purity, mourning, and in asian culture children. The color purple means precious, peaceful, and royalty. The color lavender means grace, elegance, and "something special". The color green in asian culture means family, peace, and harmony.
